HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDSAY!

- Infuriation At Its Finest - Tuesday, June 05, 2007

i am withdrawing my earlier statment of 'whooo hooo!' concerning the pathfinder's recent trip to the mechanic for it's air conditioning problem.

why?

because the god damn bloody thing is NOT fixed. i only told everyone and their dog about the appointment for the a/c because i was so completely excited to have it finally fixed aaaaaaaaaannnd we have to take it back to the shop tomorrow :(

so pissed right now. seriously.

- Blog Lazy -

there has been a LOT going on lately so i kept telling myself i would write all about it...later.

i think later is definitely here but now i am too lazy to pick my brain to remember everything!

i had two girlfriends (lisa & nicole with her daughter) come and stay over last weekend and that was pretty fun :) we went to the zoo, the lilac festival and did some shopping around 17th ave and the malls.
that same week lindsay, remy and i also went to medicine hat for remy's first visit to his grandma colleen & auntie brittany's house. then another day that same week we went to bassano to have lunch with remy's great grandma and grandpa kerr.
(talk about confusing trying to write about all these happenings now, that should teach me to keep up with my updates and blogging-life lessen #182)

this weekend we had lindsay's mom and sister (mona & monica) stay over. so again we did a bit of shopping, bbq-ing, and a lot of visiting.

this weekend was also great because we finally got the a/c fixed in our vehicle!! whooo hooo! words can not describe how awesome it is to have that working again.

now that this week is rolling on, remy is probably going to be wondering why its so quiet around here since its just us again, unless you feel like stopping by or staying over... ?

- My First Muthas Day - Monday, May 14, 2007

geology rocks! and so does mothers day.

who doesn't like being woken up by two cute boys saying "HAPPY MOTHERS DAY"?...or happy any thing any day.

my first mothers day was pretty cool. on saturday i was surprized with an 'i heart u cake love remy' from dq and sunday i got a super sweet jogging stroller. i love presents, and who wouldn't love those presents?

so that was the gift side of things and then theres how it all went on sunday night (after the photoshoot with the new stroller).

we watched shrek on tv, then remy fell alseep early and preceeded to sleep until after 8am the next morning.

spring that is ;)

and i am stoked to get on my gardening gloves and plant flowers! i'll do ANYTHING to avert attention from the red deck.

pick your battles they say though, and that's exactly what were doing.

the red deck was freshly painted 2 summers ago and the lady who previously owned our house used 13 gallons to get the job done. get the job done as in, paint the deck red (and the fence. yes the fence is red too).

not only has our red deck just been painted but we are plain and simply put, exhausted of painting (for now). yah yah i know, i say that all the time and then something else gets painted..

(IF ANYTHING is going to be painted, next in line is our family room, unfortunately not the deck.)

soooo while all of the redness is an eye sore, its not like, an obvious-in-need-of-tlc-kind-of-eye-sore but we just like it to be known that we greatly disapprove of this tragedy.

the temporary solution is flower planting but that's like putting a band aid on a bomb victim. is a pretty little carebear band aid really going to camouflage a bloody massacre?

probably not.

alas, i've been looking through all the flyers and making a point to cruise by the plant section of all the stores that have them to ensure i have seen every possible plant arrangement and type of flower there is here in calgary.

i just don't want to feel cheated once i plant my own and then see something better. that is just too huge of an emotional risk .

- Kinda Like One Big Post-It Note - Monday, April 30, 2007

i'm feeling a little too lazy to go crazy and explain any sort of in-depth detail so a list post it is.
  • i tried yoga by candelight: it was o.k., only, just o.k. tho
  • brittany stayed with us for almost a week: super nice to have an extra pair of hands
  • got a pedicure: i'm becoming an addict of womanly pampering
  • had date night at the deer foot inn and casino on friday to watch a fight card & lindsay's peers: entertaining to say the least & and fun night out for us
  • gambled: this happened on date night but it gets its own recognition because its the first time i ever put money into a machine and won a few dollas, meanwhile sOmEboDy else just found 20 bones lying on the floor
  • i cut the grass for the first time this year, weeded the flower beds & cleaned up the cat pooh pile: our neighbor's cat has been cleaning out its digestive track in my flower bed behind a bush and it might be cyanide-a kitty ...ahhh i kid i kid, i joke i joke
  • watched along came polly & donnie brasco: got both ends of the spectrum in less than 48 hours, ben stiller salsa dancing like a fool to johnny depp posing as a mafia member, "choo da rhatt?"
  • lindsay almost burned the house down: he was attempting a new recipe
  • after tolerating almost 3 months of nonsense from my bank that involved 4 individual trips down to the branch and 1 phone call later i was freed from the crap: oh snap!
  • lindsay hasn't been/isn't feeling that great: not sure whats wrong but the days are long now that i have added 'personal slave' to my list of duties

so that's it, in a nutshell.

- BusyBees With This & That - Tuesday, April 17, 2007

this past week was filled with dentist appointments, hair cuts, gym sessions, installing big-boy car seats and tanning time plus the every day errands. our nights are filled with irregular sleeping patterns caused by remy, who is teething. it just kind of feels like were just going through the motions of being everywhere we need to be and doing the things that need to be done, only to kinda sleep at night, and then do it all over again the next day.

don't get me wrong... i know and understand fully that this is just one of the parts of parenting. this teething business. but coming from a girl who relishes every second of a much needed 8 hours of sleep per night, its just wearing me down thats all.

remy has officially been given crawling status as of 2 days ago. its extremely exciting to watch him but causes some anxiety never knowing what he will get himself into when your eyes are not on him. guess its time to get a move on with that baby gate! {living in a 4 level split has suddenly become much less desirable with a tiny tot on the loose.}

now that i have become a *regular* a the gym, so to speak, remy has gotten some time to play in the daycare they provide. despite one bad night, it's going well. swell even. the one babysitter has a little boy who is 14 months old so twice a week they get a chance to 'play' err pull each others hair. not overly fair considering remy has much more for 'babysitter's son' to grab at but in all truth be told, the babysitter said remy has a really strong grip :) hehe.

and at lindsay's gym right now, they have a very important visitor, ajarn penya, from thailand. he will be teaching the fighters at the mike miles gym traditional muay thai for the next few weeks or so. ajarn penya is very respected at the mike miles gym because he is the man tho taught ajarn mike miles (a.k.a. lindsay's ajarn: 'coach' 'instructor'). lindsay seems to have picked up ajarn penya's accent with no problem, not too sure about the new techniques being offered tho...

not sure what else to mention as i usually don't know whats going on.

case in point: last night. i have had the same cell phone for a year and a half and i went to charge it but could NOT figure out for the life of me where the adaptor plugged in to it. had to ask lindsay for help, ten minutes later we still can't believe that we don't know where the adaptor goes...what shape is my adaptor anyways? circle i think. but we have similar phones so could it be a rectangle? the fact that we even had to have that conversation was creepy.

fifteen minutes later my phone was successfully plugged in to the adaptor.

and it was a circle.

figured this quick post was better than nothing although it may be borderline boring. sorry, i'm sleep deprived and so its hard to get creative.
