- A Belly Full of Laughs - Friday, July 28, 2006

"so, anyway, like i was saying...wait, what was i saying? ..is my baby going to come out looking like a chocolate chip cookie??" -jenny mccarthy

you know when you actually read a rEalLy delightful book and you just have to share? thats what i am doing :)

a few days ago i lost myself in jenny mccarthy's literary work and it truly was laugh out loud funny stuff. i can't take credit for finding this little treasure though, it came highly recommended by my sister, and now i am praising it too.

belly laughs its called.

its about her own personal trials and tribulations about her pregnancy. there is a lot of truth (the ugly kind of truth), she gives it to you straight and its halarious!! its only funny because its so true, if you have a raunchy sense of humor.. whether you have been pregnant, are preggers or have plans for pregohood in the future then i totally suggest you read it-i'll even lend you my copy!

i read this book in one afternoon. sooooo goood. just like a real chocolate chip cookie, not the baby-looking kind.

...what are you doing still reading my blog?? GO READ THE BOOK SILLY!

- Nothing Can Drag You Away From Yourself - Sunday, July 23, 2006

everyone needs to pay tribute to themseleves every once in a while. for me its cranking up 'fight for your right..' and having a good times montage run thru my head. it takes a diehard to nail the BUSTED! line and i don't mean to brag but i can make it happen.

you grow older but never forget and no matter how much you change you can always find your way back because nothing can drag you away from yourself.

with that thought in mind;
i'm getting super excited that in 5 weeks our little one will be here safe and sound, god willing. it will be amazing to see what will all transpire after that remarkable day. no more all-about-me-miss-diva attitude but no doubt i'll still take a moment here and there to sing obnoxiously loud to the beastie boys!

- Stampede-a-palooza - Wednesday, July 12, 2006

it was date night for lindsay and i last night and we decided to check out the ol'stampede grounds. we showed up right when melissa o'neil was singing and i guess she must have really did it for us because we stayed for her whole performance. she's a funny character and i can see how she won canadian idol. p.s. shes humble too. for her encore performance she brought out her 'buddy' (yah i guess you can also add 'liar' to the list too because he's more like her boyfriend..) rex goudie and they sang a cute duet before calling 'er quits. anyways, heres a few pix for the authentically proud canadians out there:

lindsay and his buddies worked up an appetite after the concert and thought $10 texas turkey drumsticks sounded like the ticket.

**p.s. there were absolutely no barbaric comments being made while they feasted on oversized chicken legs**

SPEAKEASY

i'd like to read a story in the newspaper that ends with "but she was just having a bad dream," ... "really, shes okay." --a softer world.
