remy is leaving his days of being in the blob phase behind officially starting yesterday. he has since morphed into one crazy baby rolling machine. i found him in a few unexpected places and positions throughout the day yesterday.
its quite comical, instead of playing peek-a-boo we play 'hey honey, wheres the baby?'.
normally he has tummy time on the floor in his bedroom while i put his clothes away and the next thing i knew...he was gone! not poof vanished or anything like that (he's not a magic rolling baby machine). but he had rolled over so many times he was under his crib and he had taken a little toy along for the ride.
then he was in his bouncey seat, and let me just be clear so you see the humor and don't assume danger, in the recline position laying on his back. after a few moments he was on his tummy in there.
THEN i layed him under his play gym. Minutes later he was no longer under there. or anywhere really near it. i was starting to picture a masked man coming in a sneaking off with remy but i knew for certain that i hadn't heard anyone cry out in pain (remy would have pulled at his face or went after a handful of hair and it hurts!). i scanned the room and finally found him. he had rolled his way over to the stereo. guess it was time to get crunk'n.
you always hear of those mom turned millionaires. well i've got my idea ready for patenting! i am going to make a little hamsters-like ball so the baby can roll around in a safe environment that way parents don't have to ask 'hey honey, wheres the baby?' or think a masked man snatched their little peanut when really he's just cruising the only way he knows how. i'm even thinking i might just put a damp rag in his hand and let him have at it on the kitchen floor until the ball is created.

Our little family has been busy lately so heres a rundown in no specific order:
* lindsay won his muay thai fight on february 17th by k.o. 30 seconds into the 2nd round with a hard right!! yay lindsay! his record is now 5w 1l.
* remy had his first night with a babysitter (aka dixie) for longer than an hour and they both were in good spirits when i got home...even though remy pulled a ghandi and went on a hunger strike for the duration of the evening.
* i have been commited and faithful to regular exercise for the first time since remy was born
* our pathfinder is at home and working well now :)

comfort food. thats what i'm talking about.
after a few days of stressing over our vehicle's undeniable-that-left-it-undriveable problems its time to go through the healing process. so before the under estimated quote comes in i took 30 minutes tonight to whip up a batch of cookies so i could eat my emotions rather than display them.
stranded. snowing. baby in the backseat.
circumstances that leave you feeling helpless and seriously wanting to cry. in a city of over one million people it can be hard to imagine feeling completely lonely even though you see people all around.
bittersweet to watch the pathfinder crawl on the flat deck. uber glad to be off the side of the road but sick knowing that the only way to get it back is to drain our piggybank. there is always something isn't there?
this is not the first time our vehicle has left us to jump through hoops. in the summer when it was hotter than haities and i crazy big pregnant style our air conditioner cluth burnt and we were 9 hours from home.
i mentioned to lindsay that some days i just want to live and not do all of this other shit that you have to do first. today definately classifies as one of those days.
my mom used to break it down for me and set up reality-like scenarios for when i'm in 'the real world', such as make me choose between giving my loved one an anniversary gift or paying a little more on my mortgage. well, valentines day is next week and my pathfinder is in the garage... luckily it's the thought that counts :)
right?

it was an early morning at our house today (and not just our definition of early but everybody's definition of that word). today is lindsay's first official day as a bit salesman. it was noon when i first heard from him and so far it was going good. him and his boss had already made a drop-off out at a lease and they were about to go for lunch downtown. swanky. and just for the record, he did not leave home with my lunch pail, it was simply for effect. obviously, or that sandwich would be looking pretty chintzy right about now compared to a hot meal served in an upscale downtown eatery.
